Très Chic Scarf Hair Part 5 of 5

URBAN CHIC

We love old school glamour and the scarf is a timeless classic way to get the look. It adds a bit of extra flair so that your hair looks ‘put together’, not ‘thrown together’, even on those pesky bad hair days. Marc Anthony shares an ‘Urban Chic’ way to incorporate a scarf into your spring and summer mane.

Perfect for hot summer days at work. This look works best with a bit of movement, so you’ll need to do a full blowout first.

The Hair

  • To get more fullness try Instantly Thick Hair Thickening Cream  or Salon Expert Volumizing Blowout Cream, which not only creates volume but also adds a ton of shine.
  • Use a round brush to get extra body as you blow dry, especially the root area.
  • Add a bit of waves at the ends with an extra large barrel curling iron.
  • Gently gather hair to the side and hold in place with a covered elastic band.

The Scarf

  • Fold the scarf into a loose 2” – 3” STRIP.
  • Hold the scarf over the elastic band and tie it tightly into a knot.
  • Create a bow to your liking, fluffing the bulb of the bow to your preferred size. Leave the tails hanging loosely.

EVENING OUT

We love old school glamour and the scarf is a timeless classic way to get the look. It adds a bit of extra flair so that your hair looks ‘put together’, not ‘thrown together’, even on those pesky bad hair days. Marc Anthony shares an ‘Evening Out’ way to incorporate a scarf into your spring and summer mane.

This elegant scarf technique will add some distinction to your evening up-do. The look definitely needs some curl.

The Hair

  • After blowing hair out spray Salon Expert Color Shine Hairspray and use a large barrel curling iron to curl hair all over.
  • Once hair is all curled gently run your fingers through with a bit of Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Treatment to add shine and break up the curls a bit.
  • Bobby pin hair up loosely; start at the sides and work to the back leaving the front for last.
  • Play with the front to pull curls back further or leave them towards the front.

The Scarf

  • Once hair is pinned up twist the scarf into a THIN ROPE.
  • Pin one end behind the ear (tucking it into the hair) and weave the other end in and out of your curly up-do.
  • Once finished pin the other end ensuring it is tucked in and hidden. With a few bobby pins look for loose pieces and secure them in.
  • Once you have the scarf firm you can go through with your fingers and tug slightly here and there to add some volume to the bits of scarf poking through.

BOHO HIPSTER

We love old school glamour and the scarf is a timeless classic way to get the look. It adds a bit of extra flair so that your hair looks ‘put together’, not ‘thrown together’, even on those pesky bad hair days. Marc Anthony shares a ‘Boho Hipster’ way to incorporate a scarf into your spring and summer mane.

Simple is best sometimes. Nothing adds to espadrilles and a summer frock like a scarf tied and left hanging. Whether hair is straight or waved this double knot will keep your hair out of your eyes while keeping all eyes on you.

The Hair

  • If going straight, make it as sleek as possible. Try a hot tools spray like Style Straight Iron Shine Flat Iron Spray to protect your tresses as you iron them out. You’ll also get so much shine that the sun will need shades.
  • If you prefer a more relaxed summer wave, use a texturizing spray like Dream Waves Beach Spray. Even if your hair is naturally straight it will amplify it into a fresh beachy texture, which works so well with this hipster look.

The Scarf

  • Fold the scarf lengthwise over and over into a 2” – 3” STRIP.
  • Gently pull hair up and secure it with a wide jaw clip to keep it out of the way while you tie the scarf.
  • Tie the scarf ensuring the double knot is on the left or right allowing the ‘ribbons’ to hang over the shoulder.
  • We suggest two bobby pins to secure the scarf – one on each side behind the ears – to help keep this look without worrying about your band sliding off.
